Canada Goose Hunting

September opens the resident goose hunting season in New York's Northeast zone. Gunning will be from Avery layout blinds over GHG fully body goose decoys providing shooting opportunities within 30 yards. Hunted from corn fields, gunning will be over cut rye, oat. hay, fields, adjacent to roosting waterways. Seasonal temperatures this time of year make for warmer and enjoyable days afield.

From late October till season end, hunting will be from harvested corn fields adjacent to roosting waterways. At this time of year, migrating geese by the thousands mix with local birds to produce some great gunning oppurtunities. Pre-scouting by our local guides will try to put you on the X for great shooting. Make your reservations early!

• Federal Waterfowl Stamp
• Hip Registration number (1-877-427-5547 or register online)
• Camo clothing, warm layers later in the season
• Rain gear - tops and bottoms
• Rubber boots, knee high
• 12 Gauge 3'' or 3 1/2'' BB - non toxic steel shot required
